SOAP FANS EVERYWHERE!!!!
SPECIAL INFORMATION PAGE

Fans of soaps are increasing all the time.  This has inspired me to set up this web page for fans of soaps all over the world.

Brookside
This show was created in 1982.  Set on Brookside Close, Liverpool, it tells the stories of middle and lower class families of Liverpool.  Phil Redmond, once writer of the show, is now the executive producer.  It is now also shown in Australia and New Zealand.  Brookside has covered many contraversial issues in the past, such as incest, rape and murder.  Major events to boost ratings are turned into gripping five-nighter specials.  Past major storylines have included the murder of Trevor Jordache in 1993, who was killed by his wife and daughter after making their lives a misery with his constant mental and physical abuse.
The most recent storylines have included date rape drugs and affairs.  Brookside has also been working on a major storyline raising the awareness of adult illiteracy.

This is Britain's longest-running soap.  It was first broadcast in 1960, and is set in Coronation Street in Manchester.  It has seen many different storylines in the past, although recently, with new writers, the show has seen a complete re-vamp, with more gripping issues and a mass cull of old characters.  Recent storylines have included teen marriages, broken marriages, affairs and custody battles.  Although, up until recently, Coronation Street storylines have been seen to be less gripping than other soaps, it still remains the Nation's favourite.

Eastenders
This is a very popular soap in Britain, constantly in a ratings war with Coronation Street.  Eastenders manages to portray East-end life in a down-to-earth and often contraversial way.  It is set in Albert Square in London, and many major storylines have recently gripped the nation, the most notable being the Valentines Day murder.  Other famous storylines include Tiffany's death and the perils of Den and Angie Watts.  Issues covered by the soap include HIV, teenage pregnancy and cancer.
